A artista Anya Gallacio é bastante conhecida lá fora por suas obras, principalmente por elas levarem apenas materiais orgânicos, como frutas, árvores e etc. A artista, que já foi muito premiada, resolveu se render aos encantos da impressão 3D em sua nova exposição.
Sua nova exposição é chamada Beautiful Minds e está acontecendo em Londres. Lá, a peça principal, que fica no centro, é uma enorme impressora 3D depositando constantemente argila em formatos irregulares, para fazer uma cópia fiel em menor escala da Devil’s Tower, uma montanha belíssima que fica em Wyoming. Para aqueles que não reconhecem o nome de imediato, é a montanha que aparece em Contatos Imediatos de Terceiro Grau, filme de 1977 dirigido pelo Steven Spielberg.
A peça na exposição foi criada pela artista e seus alunos e algumas perguntas são jogadas ao observador. A principal delas é: quem é o responsável pela montanha de argila que está sendo construída ali? A impressora 3D, o computador ou a argila?

ARTIST USE A 3D PRINTER TO PRINT MOUNTAIN REPLICA IN HER NEW EXHIBITION
The artist Anya Gallacio is well known abroad for her works, mainly because they take only organic materials, such as fruits, trees and so on. The award-winning artist decided to surrender to the charms of 3D printing in her new exhibition.
Her new exhibition is called Beautiful Minds and is happening in London. There, the centerpiece is a huge 3D printer constantly depositing clay in irregular shapes to make a faithful, smaller-scale copy of Devil’s Tower, a beautiful mountain in Wyoming. For those who do not immediately recognize the name, it is the mountain that appears in Close Encounters of Third King, 1977 film directed by Steven Spielberg.
The piece in the exhibition was created by the artist and her students and some questions are thrown to the observer. The main one is: who is responsible for the mountain of clay being built there? The 3D printer, the computer or the clay?
