LEVI’S ESTÁ EXPERIMENTANDO O BRIM IMPRESSO EM 3D<
07/08/2017

LEVI’S IS EXPERIMENTING THE 3D PRINTED BRIM

Levi’s has been on the market for 150 years. And for all that time its formula and its products have remained unchanged. However, a brand is interested in adding sustainability to its philosophy. Such a change will obviously be a challenge. But it looks like 3D printing, again, can be an ally.

So far, Levi’s has focused primarily on experimenting with digital rendering and exploring how much a 3D-printed denim jacket would look like. It’s just the beginning, but it can be a very interesting promise.

The head of Global Product Innovation, who leads the groundbreaking project, is thrilled with a classic rating capability to “capture a true essence of a Levi’s and turn it into a digital guarantee.” Dillinger trusts that the brand could decrease exponentially from material and manufacturing costs. It is an established establishment of additive manufacturing technology, but most producers of products sold to the reluctant to accept.

Of course it’s a brand yet to create more elaborate 3D pieces, but the movement is already being made in the right direction.
