A cidade de Eindhoven, na Holanda, verá as primeiras casas de concreto impressas em 3D construídas no próximo. O projeto, chamado Project Milestone, é o primeiro do mundo, já que as casas serão todas realmente ocupadas. Serão cinco casas impressas em 3D construídas consecutivamente. A primeira casa será uma habitação de piso único e espera-se que esteja pronta para ocupação em meados de 2019, enquanto as outras quatro serão casas de vários andares. As estruturas de concreto estarão sujeitas a todos os regulamentos de construções regulares e atenderão às demandas dos ocupantes atuais em termos de conforto, lay-out, qualidade e preço.
O município de Eindhoven juntou-se à Universidade de Tecnologia de Eindhoven, ao empreiteiro Van Wijnen, ao gerente de imóveis Vesteda, à empresa de materiais Saint Gobain-Weber Beamix e à empresa de engenharia Witteveen + Bos para realizar este projeto. Vesteda é o comprador em potencial das casas e as aluga aos inquilinos.
As casas foram projetadas por arquitetos Houben / Van Mierlo. As formas arredondadas e assimétricas das casas aproveitam ao máximo a capacidade da impressão 3D de construir praticamente qualquer formato. O design visa um alto nível de qualidade e sustentabilidade; por exemplo, as casas impressas em 3D não terão conexões de gás natural, o que é bastante raro para os lares holandeses.

Five habitable homes printed in 3D will be built in the Netherlands
The city of Eindhoven, the Netherlands, will see the first 3D-printed concrete houses built next year. The project, called Project Milestone, is the first in the world, since the houses will all be really occupied. There will be five houses printed in 3D built consecutively. The first house will be a single-storey dwelling and is expected to be ready for occupation by mid-2019, while the other four will be multi-storey houses. Concrete structures will be subject to all regular building regulations and will meet the demands of current occupants in terms of comfort, lay-out, quality and price.
The municipality of Eindhoven has joined Eindhoven University of Technology, contractor Van Wijnen, real estate manager Vesteda, material company Saint Gobain-Weber Beamix and engineering company Witteveen + Bos to carry out this project. Vesteda is the potential buyer of the houses and rents them to the tenants.
The houses were designed by architects Houben / Van Mierlo. The rounded and asymmetrical shapes of homes take full advantage of the ability of 3D printing to build almost any format. The design aims at a high level of quality and sustainability; for example, houses printed in 3D will not have natural gas connections, which is very rare for Dutch homes.
“We are still learning and we expect our team to print buildings in the future.” says Theo Salet, who heads the 3D Concrete Printing Center.
